Annual National Summits

Our multi-day, virtual gatherings take place every February since our inaugural Summit in 2023, where our members come together to learn, strategize, and network to collectively envision and create futures free from violence in South Asian American communities. 2025 National Summit:
Together We Dream, Together We Build

This year’s summit, “Together We Dream, Together We Build”, builds off of our previous summits, Together We Rise (2023) and Together We Reimagine (2024), connecting the essential work of collectively rising, dreaming, and world-building. Together We Dream represents the imaginative visioning required to imagine a future free from violence—a future where joy, healing, justice, and safety are realities for all. In a crisis-oriented field like gender-based violence, dreaming becomes a radical act of pause and resistance. In a world where survival often means focusing on immediate crises, the act of dreaming challenges the status quo by offering space to envision long-term, transformative change—an essential part of building the future we need.

But dreaming alone isn’t enough. Together We Build emphasizes that creating the cultures and solutions we dream of requires our collective power, collaboration, and action. This year’s summit title reflects the powerful interplay between envisioning transformative change and the concrete, on-the-ground work needed to bring that change to life. We are honored to convene the South Asian survivor justice movement of 40+ organizations and 100+ organizers in our network for two bold days of dreaming and building.

2024 National Summit:
Together We Reimagine

For our 2nd national summit, we showed up strong: 180 advocates, organizers, and survivors across 43 organizations and 25 states!

Each of our speakers absolutely blew us away, inviting us to reflect on sustainability, power-building, justice, and community. In each of our workshops, we were given the tools and examples to build our own leadership from storytelling to artmaking, advocacy, data, and even program development. Together, we looked critically at the past and present, and we began to imagine a radical and liberated future.

2023 National Summit:
Together We Rise

In 2023, we held our inaugural summit—convening over 130 leaders across the South Asian gender-based violence movement in the US to connect, learn, and strategize.

Together, we commemorated 40 years of the South Asian gender-based violence movement, and contemplated questions from our inspiring speakers about our BHAG (big, hairy, audacious goals) for 10 years from 2033, and beyond. From identifying our several roles in social change, to reckoning with sobering statistics, looking upstream, reflecting on our connections to communities, and finally, bridging the history of our movement with the future—we covered a lot of ground.
